Welcome to "Photos from the Heart"
I'm Stacey Rose. I thought I'd tell you just a little bit about myself, so...
...I've been taking photographs for a long time (and no, I'm not going to tell you how long!). In the last ten years, I've spent more of my photography time trying to get photos that were good enough to enlarge (clear with good composition), for my own enjoyment. Up until 2004, my photos were taken with a film camera, first a Minolta and then a Canon.
Then Canon was good enough to come out with the Digital Rebel (6.3 megapixel), which was affordable enough, with fast enough shutter speed to satisfy me, and I went CRAZY taking pictures. Now I could continue shooting a subject and not worry about running out of film (although I did find I needed lots of spare flash cards).
Throughout this time, friends would tell me I should put my photography on a web site. I never took them seriously, until now. A friend showed me the Shutterfly Professional Site (which is where you can order prints if you desire). This seemed like a good way to get started.
Most of the pictures were taken with the Digital Rebel (which I've upgraded recently to the Rebel XTi, 10.1 megapixel). A few of the photos were scanned from negatives, as they were taken before the digital craze. For the past couple of years, I have concentrated my photography in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California, mostly Mammoth Lakes and Rock Creek. I've tried to capture the area during different seasons. Another set of pictures was taken during a two week visit to Alaska. During this trip I was fortunate enough to get some interesting wildlife shots.
You'll probably notice that I'm also a little nuts about snow, glaciers, sunrises, sunsets and waterfalls.
I hope you enjoy my photos and website. Comments are welcome - you may reach me at photosbyslrose@earthlink.net.
Thanks for visiting!
